"Is fall a good time to visit Disneyland?" is one of the most common questions I get asked as a travel advisor, and honestly, it's one of my favorite times of year to send families to the parks.
Why fall is one of the best times to visit Disneyland
Once summer wraps up, Disneyland shifts into its fall lineup, and it's a genuinely different park experience:
- Halloween decorations transform the parks, from Main Street U.S.A. to a fully decked-out Haunted Mansion.
- Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party returns to Disney California Adventure on select nights, with trick-or-treating, character meet-and-greets, and Halloween-exclusive entertainment you can't get during regular park hours. These parties tend to sell out, so if this is on your list, it's worth locking in dates early.
- Fall treats and seasonal food show up all over both parks — this alone is worth the trip for some of us.
- Crowds and heat both ease up compared to peak summer, which makes for a more comfortable day of walking and waiting.
A few planning tips before you book
If you're weighing a fall Disneyland trip, here's what I'd tell any client:
- Book party nights and dining reservations early. Popular nights for events like Oogie Boogie Bash go fast.
- Watch for seasonal ticket promotions. Disneyland runs limited-time ticket offers throughout the year, and they don't last, so if you see one that fits your dates, don't sit on it.
- A Disneyland vacation package can usually be reserved with a deposit as low as $200, with the balance paid off over time before your trip. This makes budgeting for a Disney trip a lot less overwhelming than paying for everything up front.

Why I keep coming back to Disney, trip after trip
I always thought raising our kids with Disney magic was one of the best things we could do as parents, and now that legacy is continuing into the next generation. Watching our own kids bring their little ones to the parks and pass down the same traditions we built years ago is honestly one of my favorite parts of this job. Some traditions are just too magical not to pass down.
